OAK BIRDHOUSES
The Oak Birdhouse Company is a family run business
based in Essex where we build beautiful solid oak bird houses which are then inscribed with a personalised
tribute. Each bird house is handcrafted with much care
and precision, serving a special memorial to honour
those who have passed but also a way where birds can
nest comfortably and safely, giving back to nature.

OUR TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF BIRDHOUSES
We offer two types of birdhouses to honour your loved one.
First our standard birdhouse is beautifully crafted and includes your tribute and image if you wish. Each birdhouse comes with the necessary fixings for simple and easy mounting.
Secondly we have our Ashes to Aviary birdhouses
Again made with meticulous attention to detail and as with our standard birdhouses a personalised tribute and image is provided. The difference with our Ashes to Aviary birdhouse is that this structure features a small compartment under neath the nesting area where a miniature urn sits snug in it's own oak tray which can slide in and out.
As you can see from our photos the trays are made so that urn is securely nestled and can't slide or fall. each miniature urn can hold approximately 1.25 cubic inches of ashes, which is a tablespoon.
Each Ashes to Aviary birdhouse will be delivered to you intact. The urn and tray will be inside. when you are ready to add the ashes you simply unscrew the front.
CUSTOM TRIBUTES
We understand the importance of creating a special and meaningful tribute to remember your loved one. That's why we offer custom inscriptions on all of our birdhouses. Whether you choose to include a name, special date, or meaningful quote, we will work with you to create a beautiful and unique tribute that honours your loved one's memory or an inscribed message that marks a special occasion. We offer standard motifs but if there is something more special and meaningful you would like inscribed we will design and create it for you.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Established in 2022, The Oak Birdhouse Company was founded on the belief that every life should be celebrated and remembered.
​
The duo that makes up the company is Candice Wren and Oliver Cosens, Candice a passionate artist and craft enthusiast and Oliver, a skilled joiner and carpenter with many years experience. Candice sadly lost both parents within 18 months of one another when she turned 30. As a way to deal with her grief she turned to her passion that is arts and crafts and started to explore and create different keepsakes to remember loved ones by. What started as a hobby and something made just for friends and family, soon grew when it became apparent how so many people took comfort from remembering loved ones in this way.
With a love for fine craftmanship and working with his hands, Oliver was the perfect person to help Candice steer what was an idea born from grief into a business that could bring some comfort and joy to so many by creating this beautiful product.
Oak birdhouses are all hand made by Oliver in Essex in the Uk. Candice designs the wording and motif placement working closely with families and funeral homes.
The couple say they are truly proud that their bird houses serve as a beautiful and lasting tribute to honour the memory of loved ones who have passed.
